New LSU Student Body President is a Proud Fraternity Member

“Without Kappa Sigma pushing me to be the man that I am, I would never have put myself out there in the position to be Student Body President”.

Louisiana State University has a new leader at the helm of its student body: Joseph Liberto, a junior majoring in International Trade and Finance. Hailing from New Orleans, Joseph is set to graduate in 2026 and brings with him a wealth of experience and a passion for service that is deeply rooted in his involvement with Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

As a dedicated member of Kappa Sigma, Joseph has taken on numerous leadership roles, including Philanthropy Chair, Brotherhood Director, and Candidate Class Vice President. His commitment to his fraternity goes beyond just holding titles—it’s about the brotherhood and the personal growth that comes with it.

“Without Kappa Sigma pushing me to be the man that I am, I would never have put myself out there in the position to be Student Body President,” Joseph reflects. “They taught me to be my true self and to be proud of who I am. I’ve learned so many skills that, without Kappa Sigma, or Greek Life as a whole, I would have never learned. Nowhere else do you have a group of dedicated guys pushing you to be a better man every day, academically, spiritually, and out and about in the world.”

Joseph’s leadership extends beyond his fraternity and the LSU campus. He serves on the executive board of “Hams for Fams,” a nonprofit organization dedicated to feeding local families in need during the holiday season. Through this initiative, Joseph and his team have provided Christmas meals to 250 needy families in New Orleans, showcasing his commitment to giving back to his community.

Looking ahead, Joseph has his sights set on a career in finance. “After I graduate, I hope to enter the world of finance, whether that be banking, consulting, or anything in that sphere. I am currently looking for internships, and I am happy to connect to talk further,” he shares.

Joseph Liberto’s journey is a testament to the impact that fraternity life can have on personal and professional development. His story serves as an inspiration to fellow students, demonstrating that with dedication, hard work, and the support of a strong brotherhood, anything is possible.
