Q: When is the FAI 2026?
A: January 29 – 31, 2027.

Q: Where is FAI 26 being held?
A: The Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel.

Q: Who is eligible to attend?
A: Currently enrolled students who are members of NPC or NIC organizations.

Q: What is the eligibility to attend?
A: Students are selected by their organization or the Fraternity and Sorority Action Fund and who have a contribution of $2,500 from the organization or an individual. 

Q: What expenses are covered for participants?
A: All expenses are covered for participants except for travel to Chicago. Included expenses include two nights in a hotel, four meals, and session materials.

Q: When do participants arrive and depart?
A: Participants will arrive Friday, January 30, 2026 by 3 pm CT and depart Sunday, February 1, 2026.

Q: Who handles the participant’s travel arrangements?
A: The national organization or sponsoring entity will handle participants travel arrangements.

Q: Who handles the participant’s hotel reservation?
A: The Fraternity and Sorority Action Fund will handle hotel reservations for attendees.

Q: What meals are covered in the cost of FAI 26?
A: Dinner on Friday, and breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday.

Q: What is the expected attire for FAI 26?
A: Attendees are expected to dress business casual for the program.

Q: Is the First Amendment Institute connected to a political party or ideology?
A: No. The FAI focuses on its namesake, the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.  

Q: Is this a weekend of lectures and panel discussions?
A: There are both speakers and panel discussions that present to all participants.  There is also a considerable amount of time for small group work and time for the men and women participants to separate and discuss what they are hearing about the First Amendment that may uniquely affect them.

Q: Why did the Fraternity and Sorority Action Fund decide to start the First Amendment Institute?
A: The FSAF focuses on defending the fraternity and sorority experience for undergraduate members, which includes being proactive in exposing our collegiate members to the importance of the First Amendment to the fraternity and sorority experience and how the First Amendment protects their individual and organizational rights on campus.
