Building a Campus, One Conversation at a Time: Brady Kappelmann’s Leadership Journey at Kansas State

When Brady Kappelmann stepped onto the campus of Kansas State University, joining a fraternity wasn’t on his radar. Now, as Student Body President and a proud member of FarmHouse Fraternity, he can’t imagine his college experience without it.

Originally from Liberal, Kansas, Brady is a rising senior studying Marketing and Professional Strategic Selling. His leadership journey has been shaped by his deep involvement both in student government and across campus. In addition to serving as Student Body President, he is a member of Student Mobilization (Stumo), a Sales Ambassador, and the Seward County Representative for Connected ‘Cats. But it was his fraternity experience that laid the foundation for his success.

“FarmHouse’s motto is Builder of Men, and that has truly defined my experience,” Brady shared. “I’ve been surrounded by guys striving for excellence in everything they do—faith, academics, leadership. Their investment in me helped me step up as a leader, grow in my faith, and push myself far beyond my comfort zone.”

As Public Relations Director for FarmHouse, Brady credits his brothers with helping him succeed in his SGA campaign. “Having my fraternity brothers not only support me, but actually be part of my campaign leadership team, meant the world to me. I had put a lot of time and effort into that race, and knowing they had my back made a huge difference.”

Intentionality has become a hallmark of Brady’s leadership style. “Being in FarmHouse changed how I lead,” he said. “I’ve learned to be more present in conversations, more thoughtful in how I speak, and more focused on building genuine connections.”

Looking ahead, Brady hopes to pursue a career in either public service or marketing—fields where his skills, faith, and passion for helping others will continue to make an impact.

Reflecting on his college journey, Brady added: “I came to K-State not planning to join Greek life. But it’s been one of the biggest blessings—helping me grow, meet lifelong friends, and become part of a community I can always count on.”
